Did you know you can
buy them for under face value? Recently there has been an increase in the number of gift
certificates for sale. It is not uncommon to find a $200 Home Depot
gift card for $150, or from many other stores including Walmart,
Lowes, Restaurants, etc. Why would someone sell their gift card for
less than face value? There are many reasons. Maybe they received
the gift card as a gift and they do not shop at that store. They may
want to get cash instead of the gift card they have no use
for.
Also, when you buy something in a store and return it
without a receipt, most times the store will issue you in store
credit. If you would rather have cash, you might want to sell your
gift card for a discount.
